A team effort to promote healthy, drug free lifestyles among youth. Racing Against Drugs (RAD) is a community-based injury prevention program for Grade 5 students developed in 1994 through a partnership with the RCMP, the Ford Motor Company and the former London School Board. This volunteer driven program is hosting 1,123 Grade 5 students from throughout the City of Greater Sudbury and from the City's four school boards. RAD focusses on substance abuse awareness and prevention, healthy lifestyles options and smart decision-making. Grade 5 students are targeted since that age group is one that can be effectively influenced for the long term.
