The 26 km ride around Lake Ramsey is an annual event put on the City of Greater Sudbury Bicycle Advisory Panel.

Open to cyclists (and non-cyclists) of all ages and abilities it's a pleasant bike ride around Lake Ramsey where riding at your own pace is the only criteria.

Rules of the road are followed and of course proper bike helmets are mandatory. Those folks who don't think they have 26 km in them are quite able to turn back.

The traditional route is from Tom Davies Square through Minnow Lake to Moonlight Beach, access the "Ramsey Running Trail" via Camp Sudaca, come out by the Cross Country Ski Chalet at the end of South Bay Rd, take South Bay Rd up Cardiac Hill, past the Conservation Area and Laurentian University until Ramsey Lake Rd., go left, Lake Ramsey is on the right, Laurentian U. and then the Idylwylde Golf & Country Club will be on your left, you'll pass Science North on your right before making a right turn onto Paris Street, hopefully the bike paths will be restored by June 2010 and there will be new route through Bell Park, through the park to Elizabeth Street, cross John Street, follow Edmund to the Nelson Street Pedestrian Bridge over the rail tracks, hang a left onto Elgin, right onto Minto, cross Brady, and go right into Civic Square and you're there. That wasn't so bad was it?

We do this again on the third Saturday of June 2010.
